How do I reply to a person who doesn't listen, sit in Parliament: PM Modi on Rahul Gandhi

Hitting out at Rahul Gandhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday said he cannot reply to a "person who does not listen and does not sit in the House".

Hitting out at the Congress in the Lok Sabha on Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi invoked the name of former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru on multiple occasions.

PM Modi was replying to the debate on the Motion of Thanks to the President's address in Lok Sabha. "You keep complaining that I don't take the name of Nehru ji enough. Today I will only talk about Nehru ji. Enjoy," PM Modi said.

Taking a veiled dig at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, PM Modi said, "Your leader will also say 'maza aa gaya'."

Attacking the Congress for criticism over the Centre's economic policies, PM Modi went back to Nehru's address from Red Fort as the first prime minister of the country.

"Pandit Nehru said from the Red Fort that sometimes war in Korea can impact us and so price of commodities increase in India. The first PM of the country was helpless. Imagine then he was saying that the inflation problem was so serious. How the country's first prime minister threw up his hands in front of the country," PM Modi said.

PM Modi further said, "Pandit Nehru also said if something happens in America, it affects the price of our commodities. If you [Congress] were in power today, you would have blamed inflation on Covid pandemic and run away. The country is fortunate that you are not in power."

PM Modi also hit out at Rahul Gandhi's allegation that the government was favouring only a handful of industrialists.

"During the governments of Pandit Nehru and Indira Gandhi, people used to say Tata-Birla ki Sarkar. You are now speaking their tongue," PM Modi said.

Dibrugarh University professor arrested for uploading obscene videos

Dibrugarh police arrested an assistant professor of Mathematics department of Dibrugarh University on Friday after an FIR was filed against him by the Register of Dibrugarh University.

It has been alleged that the accused professor uploaded some obscene videos on some website.

The accused professor has been identified as Dhrubajit Choudhury and he has confessed before police that he has made the obscene video which was uploaded in some websites.

The Post Graduate Students’ Union of Dibrugarh University vehemently criticised the incident and urged police to take strict action as per law.“We will not allow him to enter in Dibrugarh University,” a student of the university seeking anonymity said.

“He should be boycotted for a lifetime in the University,” the student added.

On COVID-19: We are entering Unlock-2 while battling the Coronavirus. We are also now entering a season, where there will be lots of rain and hence we will be more prone to diseases. So, it is my appeal to you all to take necessary precautions.

In comparison to other countries across the globe, India is still in a very stable situation, in the battle against COVID-19. Our death rate is under control. Timely decisions and measures have played a great role. But we have also seen that since Unlock1, the society has become more careless

People who are not following rules need to be stopped and made aware of the problems. Nobody is above rules in India, even if it's the leader of the nation.

We notice that there has been a negligence on people's social and personal behaviour. Like the way we used to meticulously wash hands, used sanitisers, wore masks, maintained social distancing and avoided shaking hands... we see that that is not happening as strictly anymore. That is a sign of worry. This is a serious matter, and we must ensure that we maintain the discipline.

On Gareeb Kalyan Rozgar Yojana: In the last few months, farmers have got a total of Rs 18,000 crore directly in their bank accounts, for migrants too, the PM Gareeb Kalyan Rozgar Yojana has been launched. About 80 crore people have also got 5 kg ration for free and 1 kg of Dal per month free of cost. This was done for people of the country whose population is more than 2 times the size of the US population, more than 20 times the size of the entire UK population and more than twice the population of the entire European Union. The government is working round the clock to ensure that people get the support they need in this time of crisis.

Assam University PG, UG & Semester Examinations Cancelled

Controller of Examinations (In-Charge) Assam University L. Bojen Singh has said that the PG, UG and integrated courses even semester exams will be canceled as the COVID-19 Pandemic cases are increasing on a daily basis.

In supersession of earlier notification on the above subject, it is notified for information of all concerned that PG, UG & Integrated Courses Even Semester Examinations 2020, which was earlier scheduled to be held during July 2020, are hereby postponed until further notification. This is issued with the approval of the Vice-Chancellor, an official order stated.

12- HOUR NIGHT CURFEW IN ASSAM FROM FRIDAY, 14DAYS CIMPLETE KOCKDOWN IN GUWAHATI..

Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that a 12-hour night curfew will be imposed across the state from 7 pm onwards from Friday and a 14-day complete lockdown will be enforced in Kamrup (Metro) district, of which Guwahati city is a part, from June 28 midnight, following a spurt in COVID-19 cases.Guwahati, the gateway to the northeast region, has reported 762 coronavirus cases since June 15, and 677 of them have no travel history, though many had come in contact with those returned to the state from outside, the minister told reporters here. Of the 276 cases reported in the state on Thursday, 133 were fromGuwahati, he said. "We are now left with no choice but to impose a complete lockdown for 14 days from June 28 midnight, and this time it will be very strict as no grocery shops will be allowed to open or supply of vegetables and other essentials will be permitted for the first seven days," he said.
